1) Jabbar

He is a guy from Tangkak, Johor. He staying at college Sempana Riau which is same like me. His nickname is Kain but I usually call him Jabbar. He always went to class with Adib. I thinks he is hardworking man because he always finish any assignment giving to us early than the others.

2) Zulfadli
Simple. This is the best word to describe him. He just does whatever he wants to do without care about anything else. He also just wears anything as long as it looks simple. People call him Kochak. It sound quite funny but it makes him looks simple because he can accept people call him with that name. He likes to play futsal. I always see him when I played futsal at college. He is a skillful player.

3) Haris
I had see Haris face almost every day since in Semester 1 until now. His room is just in front of my room. Sometime, I call him Persie. But not Van Persie, a formal Dutch’s football player. It has the other meaning behind that name. He had helped me with my assignment a lot. We always late to class. Actually, I am the one who always late and he needs to wait for me. I guilty with him. Haris is also a cheerful guy. Sometime, he will look crazy when he became stress.

He know his weakness and try his best to face the weakness. He never feel shy to asking for the other help if he got problem with his study. He is good in playing sepak takraw. He can be seen playing sepak takraw in the evening.

He had a lot of commitment with his study, classmates and his IRAMA club. That make he became very successful every semester with a great CGPA. It is very hard to beat his pointer. I will try my best to beat him one day.

Next, I will write about girls in my class.

1) Izzaty

The most chubby girl in our class. She seems to be close with Lina, Sakinah and Yana. I want to classified four of them as Tulip Hitam Gang. I am never talking to her before. She always sit at the back of the class with her gang. I think she is a good follower because she always follow what ever her friends did.

2) Lina
The most cheerful guys in class. She always smile and that makes her cute. She is a kind, friendly, and caring person. It is nice to be friend with her because she always concern about other people rather than herself. I think she is also an independent girl because she is able to do whatever she wants to do by herself.

3) Sakinah
One of Tulip Hitam Gang’s member. She is the tallest between four of them. Same like Izzati, I never talk to her before. So, I don’t know much about her. What I know is that she always can be seen with her sidekicks.

4) Yana
The other Tulip Hitam Gang’s member. She is the cutest girl in our class. The most talkative person in class. Almost every day I can hear her voice asking question to our lecturers. Although she sit at the back of the class, I can see that she always at full concentration during classes.

5) Ayu
She seems to be close with Izati in class. I recognize Izati and her as Cempaka Gang. This is the first time they have been in this class. She always smile in class. Lately, I had found funny thing about her. It is easy for her to be shock when something appear suddenly.

6) Izati
The other Cempaka Gang. I never heard any single word come out from her mouth. Maybe because she is still new in our class. I don’t know what to write about her.

7) Fatimah
We usually call her Tim. She is a simple and smart girl. Although she is not a talkative person, but she is friendly with all her friends. She looks passive in class, but his ability should not be underestimated. Starting last semester, she is an Academic Exco of our Banking Society (DIBA).

8) Farawahida
People call her Fawa. Her picture looks like a Japanese girl. She is an independent person because it is ok for her to do anything by herself. I thought she is an arrogant person. But, I realized that my perception is totally wrong. She seems to be friendly with people.

9) Amira
She is a new member in our class. I don't know a lot about her. What I know is she came from Port Dickson, a lovely place to live. Although she is new here, she always sit beside Fawa and they look like a good friends. She is a pretty girl with good principle. She looks very concentrate in class.

10) Atiqah
Also a new member in our class. He had been transferred from UiTM Sarawak. She always come to class together with Tim. She is a very kind and a happy girl since she always smile to anyone. She is kind of Muslim's person. It will be to aware every time I looks at her appearance.

New Semester Mean New Subjects

This is the fourth essay in my blog. I appreciate so much to those who had read all my writing in this blog. I also need any comments from the readers about my writing so that I can improve my writing knowledge. I already write about myself, my roommates and about being a senior. Now, I will write about subject that I am taking for the third semester as a student of Diploma in Banking at UiTM Segamat Campus. According to the registration course, there is total 7 subject that I am taking for this semester including co-curriculum subject.

Firstly is Introduction To Statistics (QMT 216). The purpose for me to learn this subject is it can expose me with the introductory survey of many applications of statistics. This is a subject with 3 credit hour. Credit hour for this subject is 3 credit hour. Course evaluation for this subject is 20% for test 1 and 2, 10% for quizzes, another 10% for assignment and 60% for final exam. My lecturer for this subject is Assoc. Prof. Ruhana Zainuddin. It is quite hard for me to learn this subject because I think I don’t have any interest with this subject. I will try my best study and score this subject in my final since it is very important for my future career and my life. Macroeconomics (ECO 211) is difference from microeconomics. ECO 211 looks at the economy from a broader perspective by considering its overall performance and the way the various sectors of the economy relate to one other. Credit hour for this subject is also 3 credit hour. Assessment mark for this subject is same like QMT 216. My ECO 211 lecturer is Puan Zarina. It was so fun learning this subject because I like her teaching style. She was a funny guy.

The most tough subject for this semester is Fundamentals of Finance (FIN262). This subject will expose and assists me with basic understanding of financial concepts and approaches to financial problem solving. FIN 262 is one of the tough subject for this semester since it is a subject with 4 credit hour. The assessment mark for this subject is Test 1 and 2 with 15% for both, 5% for quizzes and assignments, another 5% for lecturer’s personal evaluation and lastly, 60% for the final examination. My lecturer for this subject is Miss Wan Asma Hanim Wan Mustapha. She is a kind person. It is easy for me to learn this subject with her since I can understand what he teach in class. But, I need time to clearly understand some parts of this subject. Islamic Economics subject (CTU 241) is also important since my course is related with economy. This is because this subject is about economy or business in Islam perspective. As a Muslim, anything that I do must be follow Islam’s rule so that I will be bless by the almighty. Ustaz Kamarulzamn Sulaiman, my CTU 241 lecturer is very sporting. He had a lot of experience as a CTU 241 lecturer.

English for Academic Purposes (BEL 311) is a subject that will improve my English and writing style. English is very important for me because this language was using broadly around the world. This subject is provided with 3 credit hour. The assessment mark for this subject is written 30% for written assignment, 20% for speaking test, 10% for attendance and 40% for final exam. Sir Izuan Ismail is my BEL 311 lecturer. I am so glad that he ask us to make our own blog for the writing assignment. Although it can help me to improve my grammar and writing style, it also broad my knowledge about what else I can do while surfing Internet. Thank you sir. I realize that I am so bad with my grammar and my writing skill. I don’t know what else I can do to improve both skill. With Sir Izuan and my other friends’ help, I hope that my English will be better.

Another language subject that I have for this semester is Mandarin Language (BMD 101). It is a subject with 2 credit hour. I choose this subject because I want try something new in my life with is speaking mandarin. The ongoing assessments is quite same with BEL 311. But there is no final for this subject. It is replace by another task. The task required Mandarin language’s student to act in a short movie using Mandarin Language. Mr Lim Yoon Chong/Lim Laoshi (lecturer) is a very nice guy. He always smile while teaching in class. The last subject is co-curriculum subject. I had registered Football (HSK 117) as my co-curriculum subject.I choose HSK 117 because I love playing football and futsal so much. With this opportunities, I want to improve my skill in this sport. Moreover, I know a little bit about football. So I will be easier for me to answer the question in co-curriculum test.

In conclusion, my class schedule is quite pack in the middle of week. My class for Wednesday is full from morning until evening. Moreover, I need to wake up early in the morning everyday since my class start at 8 a.m. the whole week. Luckily I don’t have any class during night. So I can do my assignment and some revision at that time. That's all about my subject for this semester. Hope to see again in my next entry. Thank you.

Me, A Senior

Peace be upon you.

Thank you for willing to read my blog again. This time I will write about Being A Senior. Firstly I am so sorry for publishing this post quite late. This is because of a few problem that can’t be avoided. Let’s continue with my writing, all new students in boarding school, college and even university has bad expectation about senior that they will face after they have registered in the institution. Actually, not all senior have bad attitude. Only people without mature thinking care about seniority rather than harmonious environment, especially for university student.

Currently I am in my third semester in UiTM Segamat campus. This means my junior is Semester 1 and Semester 2 students. There are still 3 batches above my batch not including degree students. My room members consist of two junior which is semester 1 students. It is about 24 semester 1 students in my wing. So, this semester I will have 24 new friends in this campus. I had learnt a lot of things during the three semesters being a university student, especially being a resident of Sempana Riau College. One of the precious things that I learn is respect will only be given to those who care about friendship more than seniority.

Senior has the responsibility to lead their junior to handle their new life, and not to bully them. A good leader is the one who can make people trust and respect them. How to make people trust and respect us? Show good attitude, be humble, show loyalty, be kind and respect others. Then we will be trusted and respected. Honestly I don’t like places with too much seniority and discrimination. There is no need to differentiate between juniors and seniors. We will be respected by others if we respect them first without caring about their status as our juniors or seniors. Seniors usually want to be respected by their juniors. Same goes to me. But, using seniority can’t make juniors respect their seniors. Seniority will only make juniors hate their seniors. Who knows one day seniors will need their juniors’ help.

It doesn’t make any sense if juniors respect their seniors because of the seniority. It is better if they respect their senior because of their leadership and experience. For me, I like my senior who is friendly and can treat me like their own friend rather than senior who only think that they are the great and want their juniors to obey them. Actually there is no gap between juniors and seniors as long as they know how to respect each other as a human being. I don’t want my juniors to feel the gap between us. I will treat them as my friends as long as they do not take me for granted. It is easier for juniors to get close with seniors who treat them like a friend rather than treating them like a slave.

Last but not least, being a senior is not an easy thing. It doesn’t mean that we will be like a king and our juniors will follow us. Our juniors are also our friends. Friend doesn’t bully their own friend. Although they are our junior or senior, we still live and learn under the same roof. We need to create a harmonious environment so that we can live happily together. Thank you for reading.
